Morocco Appeal

Make a difference in the lives of those in need in Morocco.

Sayaban Welfare is on the ground in Morocco and is one of our key focus areas for aid. There are very limited charities working in Morocco and yet the need is great. As with any country, there is poverty especially within the developing world. Although Morocco is a popular holiday destination, once we looked into the underlying poverty, lack of charities helping and outside of the popular tourist areas, we found we had to get involved.

We want to get to a stage where we are setting up sustainability projects, especially for women in the region so as to make them more self-sufficient, however, the immediate needs are there and as we build our infrastructure on the ground, you can directly help with our current projects that are giving much needed help now.

Make your donation today!

We have a number of projects in Morocco for you to support and make a difference to some immediate needs.

This project focuses on completing the outstanding building works of a remote village masjid in Id Lhsen in the province of Essouira, Morocco. The first phase of the project has been completed, and the remaining works are essential to service the needs of worshippers in the village and surrounding areas. There are no alternative masajid in the vicinity, so the reward for giving someone access to worship in the mosque in congregation rather than in their homes is immense. The donations will be used to:

– Complete the roofing of the mosque to protect the main prayer hall from the elements
– Complete an adhkar room for village women to gather, make duah, and dhikr
– Complete kitchen works resident quarters for the  resident imam
– Complete outstanding painting, drainage, and tiling and other works

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “Whoever builds a mosque, desiring  Allah’s pleasure, Allah builds for him the like of it in paradise”.

This project aims to provide manual and electric  wheelchairs to those who cannot afford them, giving them much-needed mobility and independence. The wheelchairs are intended to be distributed in both urban and rural areas. The electric mobility wheelchairs are essential in rural areas where the terrain is varied and will give those people who receive them newfound independence never had before.
The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Whoever removes a worldly hardship from a believer, Allah will remove one of the hardships of the Day of Resurrection from him”.
Manual Wheelchair – £100 each
Electric Wheelchair – from £400 each

Food Packs

This project provides food packs that contain enough food essentials to last a small family for one month. People who are poor in Morocco struggle to have basic food essentials day to day, so providing food is essential and will always be needed.  Feeding the hungry is one of the most significant actions in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “Whoever feeds someone will have his sins forgiven….”

Food Packs – £30 each

Winter Packs

This project offers winter packs that includes a blanket, jacket, hat, gloves, and socks to protect those who cannot afford adequate winter clothing from the cold. Winters in some areas of Morocco are extremely cold, so securing warmth is paramount in the coming winter season. Sayaban Welfare aims to distribute winter packs to as many people as possible, and with your help, they will, insha Allah.

The Prophet (PBUH) encouraged Muslims to take care of one another, especially during harsh weather conditions. By donating to this project, you will be following the teachings of Islam and earning rewards for providing protection and comfort to those in need during the cold season.

Winter Packs – £40 each
